What the Beagle Channel shore excursion covers

The tour runs on land. You see the channel from the city waterfront and from a viewpoint high above Ushuaia, then spend the larger part of the day in Tierra del Fuego National Park, whose southern boundary is the channel shore. No sailing is involved, so if you also want time on the water you need a separate navigation.

Five hours in total, in an air-conditioned vehicle with a professional guide working in English or Spanish. The group is small, the stops are made for photographs, and a snack is included and eaten at a quiet place with a view of the mountains.

The national park entrance fee is not included on this tour. It is paid at the park entry by credit card, so carry a card you can use there.

The day step by step

1. Ushuaia 60 min
   A panoramic drive through Ushuaia before the park. The first photo stop looks over Ushuaia between the Andes and the water; the second sits on higher ground above the Beagle Channel, with the islands, the mountains and the far shore in frame. Your guide talks through the city's history, its setting and what you are looking at from each stop.
2. Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego 240 min
   Four hours in Argentina's southernmost national park, with stops at Ensenada Zaratiegui, Lake Acigami (Lake Roca) and Lapataia Bay, where National Route 3 ends. Views over the channel, the lakes and the Fuegian forest, time out of the vehicle for photographs, and the included snack among trees and mountains. Your guide covers the park's wildlife and history. The park entrance fee is not included and is paid at the park entry by credit card.
